The Embion EMS is a unique power manager, which combines extreme power with extreme flexibility making your installation fit for the future. Embion EMS makes it possible to manage and control solar energy, charging stations, heat pumps, battery storage systems and other energy consumers and/or generators.

How it works

Based on the available power and your preferences, energy is automatically distributed to the consumers that have priority at that time. External factors, such as the energy price, can be taken into account to make this distribution even more efficient and sustainable. The Embion EMS also offers the ideal solution in case of grid congestion. The inverter(s) can be dynamically limited to minimize feed-in to the grid when more energy is generated than consumed. Thus, supply and demand are better matched. Through an advanced online portal, the installation can be configured and monitored worldwide. This enables end users to accurately track their energy consumption and yields and gives installers the ability to manage systems remotely.

Hardware

The hardware of the Embion EMS provides various connectivity and control options for efficient operation. The system is equipped with multiple RS485 ports (1, 2, 3) for three individual RS485 buses, with optional 120 ohm bus termination via switches (11, 12, 13), ETH ports (4, 5) for network connection, and USB ports (7, 8) for external connectivity. The LCD display (9) provides clear visual feedback, while the two status LEDs (6 and 10) indicate system status. The control buttons (14, 15, 16, 17) make it easy to configure and operate the system directly.

Software

Embion's software is uniquely developed and continuously maintained by our own team. This software provides local readout and control of all connected assets without the need for an Internet connection. This keeps the system functioning at all times, even when the Internet is temporarily unavailable, and allows it to continue to regulate dynamically. Thanks to OTA (Over The Air) software updates, the system automatically stays up-to-date with the latest releases from Embion. Moreover, the system is designed with the highest cybersecurity standards, so you can always be assured of safe and reliable operation.

Independent

Installers can easily configure the Embion EMS themselves, either on-site or remotely via the web app. Without any input from Embion, installation can be carried out directly and independently.

We are also brand-independent: Embion EMS can connect to many consumers and generators via Modbus and REST API to control devices. Even if such interfaces are not available, we can switch devices on or off through an external contact.

All in one

The Embion EMS offers a complete solution with a controller (hardware) and a web app for real-time monitoring and control. Embion provides a single controller for all applications, which offers significant logistical advantages throughout the chain. The Embion EMS can also be deployed efficiently in cascade configurations (micro-grids) and is suitable for a wide range of use cases.

Continuity

The Embion EMS also stores basic settings and controls locally, ensuring continuity even in the event of internet outages.

Within the licensing model, Embion delivers regular functional, integration, and security updates via the cloud, ensuring that the Embion EMS controller is always up-to-date and future-proof. The flexible and scalable licensing model is tailored to the actual use of the Embion EMS, maximizing return on investment for every application.
