An EMS is the key to efficient electricity management

 

Embion is a Dutch company that develops and markets an energy management system (EMS). The Embion EMS ensures that (i) generation (e.g., solar panels, wind turbines), (ii) storage (e.g., batteries, charging stations, heat pumps), and (iii) consumption comply with the contract established with the grid operator regarding the maximum electricity draw and feed-in.

In addition, the EMS provides the ability to buy or sell electricity at the optimal times of the day.

At the customer site, a single Embion controller (hardware) is installed. This controller manages the entire installation 24/7 via advanced and secure SaaS software, according to the end-user’s settings.

Installers can easily configure the Embion EMS themselves, either on-site or remotely via the web app. Without any input from Embion, installation can be carried out directly and independently.

We are also brand-independent: Embion EMS can connect to many consumers and generators via Modbus and REST API to control devices. Even if such interfaces are not available, we can switch devices on or off through an external contact.

The Embion EMS offers a complete solution with a controller (hardware) and a web app for real-time monitoring and control. Embion provides a single controller for all applications, which offers significant logistical advantages throughout the chain. The Embion EMS can also be deployed efficiently in cascade configurations (micro-grids) and is suitable for a wide range of use cases.

The Embion EMS also stores basic settings and controls locally, ensuring continuity even in the event of internet outages.

Within the licensing model, Embion delivers regular functional, integration, and security updates via the cloud, ensuring that the Embion EMS controller is always up-to-date and future-proof.
